Technical, functional and durable products; simply the best. The design heritage Ambos was founded in 1977 by the designer Egidio Agostoni. Egidio Agostoni was born in Granaglione (BO) in 1942. After studying at the Istituto d'Arte in Bologna, a period in which, as a very young man, he won several design prizes in important international competitions, he continued his experience as a teacher of wood at the institute in the 1960s. At the beginning of the 1970s, he decided to interrupt his teaching to devote himself entirely to the design of interiors and the development of his projects. In 1973, he designed and produced his first mobile clothes rail Lift, to this day unsurpassed on the market in terms of payload and technical characteristics. In 1977 Agostoni founded the company Ambos. For about thirteen years he dedicated himself to the design of furniture extensions and wardrobe accessories. During these years, his most innovative projects were the expansion sleeve for wood, the shoe holder, the stepwise retractable console support and the Blinda (the first console made of extruded aluminium with a high payload). In the 1990s until 2008, the year of his untimely death, he worked exclusively on the design of wardrobe and cupboard accessories, including the various lift models, trouser racks, tie bars and many other devices, as well as the world's first drawer to be mounted on just one rail and with full pull-out capability. Since then, Ambos has continued its activity with the same innovative spirit and design philosophy that have made the company a reference throughout the world all these years. The legacy of the founder of Ambos was taken over by his son Daniele Agostoni, who runs the company, assisted by his sister, the architect Donatella Agostoni, who is mainly involved in the design and engineering of the products. Ambos exports to more than 40 countries worldwide and can count on the most qualified trade channels. The company headquarters are located in the west of Bologna, on the historic Via Emilia.
